RIYADH: Locally grown produce and culinary treats from Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province will go on display at a farmers market from May 16-18 at Alkhobar Waterfront.
The event aims to support local farmers and culinary artisans, while highlighting the range of agricultural produce and culinary offerings from the area, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
Dates, lumi (dried limes), vegetables and a wide variety of fruit will be available at the marketplace.
A dedicated section will spotlight local producers, offering dishes and beverages made from the province’s finest ingredients.
Live musical performances and activities for children will also be provided.
The farmers market has been organized in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and the Eastern Province Municipality.
The commission hopes to expand the market as a platform to promote locally sourced products, both domestically and internationally.
By facilitating direct sales from farmers to consumers, the commission aims to promote sustainability and local investment within the culinary arts sector.
