LONDON: Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, state news agency QNA reported.
During the phone call, they particularly focused on joint mediation efforts to end the war, release prisoners and detainees, and bring humanitarian aid in a sustainable manner to all areas of the besieged enclave.
They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East region.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed received a delegation of members of the US Congress, which included Democrat Derek Kilmer ad Republicans Dave Joyce and Lance Gooden during their visit to Doha.
The meeting discussed the close strategic relations between Qatar and the US and ways to support and develop them, as well as the conflict in Gaza.
