More than 20m pilgrims visit Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during first 20 days of Ramadan

RIYADH: More than 20 million worshippers visited and prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque complex in Madinah during the first 20 days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to Saudi authorities.

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque said it had “intensified its work in serving the visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque during the blessed month,” and that the total number of pilgrims praying at the site had reached 19,899,991.

The authority added that an additional 1,643,288 had visited Prophet Muhammad’s tomb, an integral part of the mosque, while the Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa had welcomed 655,227 visitors, of which 358,632 were men and 296,595 women.

The authority said it would continue its efforts to provide integrated services and all means to provide comfort for visitors and worshippers.
