- Following the inaugural event in France last year, this year it has been expanded to take in five countries: Morocco, Australia, China, India and Mexico
RIYADH: The Saudi Film Commission’s second Saudi Cinema Nights series of international films screenings begins this month, with the itinerary expanded to take in five countries compared with just one last year.
The cultural showcase, featuring more than 20 Saudi-produced feature films and shorts, will visit Morocco in April, then move on to Australia, China and India, before concluding in Mexico next January.
In addition to the film screenings, there will be interactive discussion sessions at each location during which filmmakers will talk to the audience about their works. The aim is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Saudi cinema on a global scale.
“Saudi Film Nights reflects our commitment to enhancing cinema culture in the Kingdom and highlights the potential of Saudi films in attracting international audiences,” said Abdullah Al-Qahtani, the CEO of the Film Commission.
The first Saudi Cinema Nights international screenings were held last year in Paris at the Institut du Monde Arabe.
