RIYADH: The second season of Souq Al-Mawsim in Diriyah will continue until April 11 due to the increasing demand from visitors during the holy month of Ramadan.
Organized by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, the event aims to highlight one of Diriyah’s traditional significant markets, engage visitors through workshops and exciting activities, and support and promote traditional crafts.
The market receives around 15,000 visitors daily and will open its doors from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the southern garden of the UNESCO World Heritage Site At-Turaif.
Souq Al-Mawsim is a traditional market and an important legacy for the region with a modern and elegant design. The historic souq brings together local and regional merchants to trade in the heart of Diriyah.
The market is divided into 15 areas, and a collection of local brands display products including food from Saudi Arabia’s delicious dishes to traditional clothes, handicrafts, essential oils, oud, and host a children’s area.
The authority continues to preserve Diriyah’s heritage in a manner that is consistent with its historical and cultural status, deepen the national identity of the local population of Diriyah, and expand their knowledge of their ancestors.
