DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan met with Erin Gore, CEO of US charity World Central Kitchen in Abu Dhabi, Emirates News Agency reported on Sunday.

Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between major Emirati entities and WCK, aiming to improve aid delivery to Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the territory.

A ship, arranged by WCK, carrying a barge loaded with 200 tonnes of food and critical supplies arrived off Gaza on Friday as a test run for a new aid route by sea from Cyprus into the devastated enclave where famine looms after five months of Israel’s brutal military campaign and blockade.

Meanwhile, 98 Palestinians from Gaza who were critically in need of medical treatment for severe injuries, burns, and cancer, were flown to Abu Dhabi on Saturday, accompanied by 58 family members.
