RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief remained the only organization authorized to receive donations and deliver them to people in need abroad, the Ministry of Interior said on Thursday.

In a post on X, ministry officials pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s donation campaigns to assist countries during disasters followed set procedures to ensure that donations reached the intended recipients.

They noted that any activities to collect donations other than through KSrelief would face legal action and urged members of the public to report any suspected violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and eastern regions of the country, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom.

Backed by the Saudi government, KSrelief delivers humanitarian assistance around the world.

Speaking at the center’s open day in January, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, adviser at the Royal Court and general supervisor of the KSrelief, said the agency served “as a beacon of civilization for the Kingdom in the field of international humanitarian work, drawing global attention with its relief projects.”

He pointed out that 95 countries had received aid via 2,670 projects covering “all fields of humanitarian work,” in cooperation with 175 partners and amounting to a total value of more than $6.5 billion.
