DOHA: Old Doha Port has announced plans to host an array of traditional and cultural festivities throughout Ramadan to showcase Qatar’s rich heritage.

The lineup includes the inaugural Meal Festival, which provides a journey through Qatar’s oldest restaurants and a variety of entertainments for visitors during iftar and sahoor, Qatar News Agency reported.

A nod to tradition will see the revival of the Musaher Al-Mina drummers, who will patrol the Mina District daily and signal the time for sahoor.

Mohammed Abdulla Al-Mulla, the executive director of Old Doha Port, said: “We are committed to providing a platform that not only reflects Qatar’s hospitality, cultural heritage, and rich maritime tradition, but also supports various maritime and tourist sectors and water sports.”

Other highlights include traditional musical ensembles, itinerant dancers, and a host of performances including acrobatics, theater plays, balloons, bubbles, science demonstrations and caricature drawing, along with workshops focused on creating colored sand bottles.
