RIYADH: Top officials from the GCC and Canada’s government held talks on Wednesday in Riyadh on ways to boost relations and tackle key regional and international challenges.

Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, secretary-general of the GCC, met with Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly to discuss the “importance of consolidating the strategic dialogue between the two sides,” the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During their meeting at the GCC’s offices they reviewed the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties in 2016 and the joint action plan for cooperation on the political, security, health, education and energy fronts.

Albudaiwi and Joly also discussed key regional and international issues of concern, SPA reported.
