RIYADH: The Kingdom’s Young Leaders Program for Global Communication welcomed its latest batch of graduates on Tuesday.

The 70 youngsters are the sixth group to complete the initiative, which is run by the Salam Project for Cultural Communication under the patronage of Foreign Affairs Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The new graduates will soon be helping to promote the Kingdom’s achievements and peacemaking efforts around the world.

Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji said at the graduation ceremony that the program was designed to give participants the skills they needed to communicate and engage in cultural dialogue at both the regional and international level, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

“Communication is also important to create a society capable of achieving common human goals by investing in the energy of young people capable and qualified to interact and participate in international forums and meetings, and communicate with international organizations to project the true image of Saudi Arabia’s role in promoting peace and dialogue among cultures,” he said.

Mohammed bin Hussein Al-Sayed, executive director of the Salam project, said its programs supported Saudi Vision 2030, part of which seeks to improve the Kingdom’s image.

The initiative equipped people with the knowledge and skills they needed to communicate on a global level, conduct studies, monitor and analyze comments about the Kingdom at research centers, in media outlets and international institutions, and assess the way the image of the country was reflected in other societies, he said.

The program includes training workshops and discussions on the most prominent issues and challenges facing Saudi Arabia.
