LONDON: Dubai-based production company Blue Engine Studios announced on Wednesday the appointment of Nabil Soueid as its new majority shareholder and chairman of the board.

The move is part of the company’s strategy to bolster growth and expand the production of diverse scripted, unscripted, and short-form content for regional and international platforms.

Speaking about the appointment, Blue Engine Studios CEO Ziad Kebbi said: “The next phase for Blue Engine Studios is about honing our focus on groundbreaking television programming. Nabil Soueid’s expertise is a significant asset as we continue to expand our creative horizons.”

Soueid brings with him over four decades of experience in the media industry, stepping into his role following the departure of Hani Ghorayeb, who helped establish Blue Engine Studios as a prominent industry player in the regional landscape.

Since its establishment in 2021, the content creation and production company has forged an exclusive partnership with Dutch media conglomerate Talpa Studios, developing a robust format catalog that includes the recent global sensation game show “The Floor.”

Soueid added: “Our dedication is to provide the necessary support to propel Blue Engine Studios to new heights of creative excellence. I am thrilled to lead our team towards a successful future.”

Blue Engine Studios said that future announcements will unveil the company’s initiatives as it progresses under renewed leadership and a strategic vision for content production.
