LONDON: OMD MENA, the media agency network under Omnicom Media Group, has appointed Ziad Soukkarie as the managing director for Saudi Arabia, aiming to propel the company’s growth in the Saudi market.

In his role at OMD, Soukkarie will spearhead initiatives to nurture talent, foster team success, enhance client capabilities, and surpass market growth expectations.

Saleh Ghazal, CEO of OMD MENA, expressed confidence in Soukkarie’s appointment, stating that it aligns seamlessly with the company’s aspirations in the Kingdom.

“Working with Saudi Arabia’s growth momentum and its ambitious vision, Ziad’s experience and proven track record to date bodes well for our next chapter in the Kingdom,” commented Ghazal.

“Ziad is ideally placed to help us accelerate our growth with his grasp of the dynamics and mechanics of the unique Saudi market.”

With over 18 years of experience, largely within the Kingdom, Soukkarie brings extensive industry knowledge to his new position.

In his latest role as general manager of UM KSA, Soukkarie supported the development of the Kingdom’s media landscape and oversaw the growth of the company, positioning it among the leading advertisers in the country.

“I’ve always had the greatest deal of respect for OMD, and I now realize it is because we share the same vision and values. Joining OMD feels like a homecoming of sorts, a natural step in my professional journey,” Soukkarie said.

“I am very excited about what’s coming next, and I look forward to meeting, exceeding even, the ambitions of our business partners.”
