RIYADH: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday condemned a gun attack in the Turkish city of Istanbul, expressing regret over the incident.
Two people attacked Turkiye’s largest courthouse before being shot dead on Tuesday in an exchange of fire that also left one other person dead and five wounded. Authorities alleged the assailants were part of an extremist organization that had been largely inactive in recent years.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the “Kingdom’s position against all forms of violence and terrorism, and also extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, the government and the Turkish people,” it said in a statement.
It also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
