RIYADH: Saudi Border Guard officers thwarted an attempt to smuggle 80 kg of qat in Jazan on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The seized narcotics were handed over to relevant authorities.

The security authorities have appealed to the public to report information regarding drug smuggling or selling by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom. Members of the public may also contact the General Directorate of Narcotics Control on 995 or by email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa.
