DUBAI: UAE Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced on Saturday a cabinet reshuffle, Dubai Media Office reported.

As part of the shake-up, Maktoum bin Mohammed was appointed deputy prime minister for financial and economic affairs.

Mohammed Fadel Al-Mazrouei was appointed as minister of state for defense affairs. 

Mariam Almheiri, who was previously minister of climate change and environment, was made head of the international affairs office in the Presidential Court, while Amna Al-Dahak Al-Shamsi was chosen to replace Almheiri.

Also on Saturday, UAE astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi was appointed minister of youth.

Posting on X, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said Al-Neyadi “has served his country in the military and space sector, as well as served humanity in the scientific field.”
