Saudi cabinet champions clean energy cooperation with Japan in ‘Manar’ initiative

The Saudi cabinet discussed on Tuesday the Saudi-Japanese "Manar" initiative focused on cooperation in clean energy.

The council of ministers noted that the initiative would be a guiding beacon for nations worldwide in their efforts to formulate strategies and plans for achieving carbon neutrality, SPA reported. 

Addressing local affairs, the Council emphasized the commencement of the fourth year of the eighth session of the Shura Council.

The cabinet also discussed achievements over the past year that included providing a high standard of living for citizens, perpetuating the comprehensive development process, and solidifying the Kingdom's leadership, competitiveness, and global standing across various sectors.

The cabinet pledged to extend the implementation of the Citizen Account Program. This extension will encompass continued support for program beneficiaries until the conclusion of the year 2024.
