RIYADH: The Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030 held its seventh ministerial meeting in Riyadh on Monday to discuss strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries in various sectors, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ken Saito, and Japan’s Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Yoichi Fukazawa, with the participation of officials and government representatives from both countries.

Al-Falih said this was the first ministerial meeting of the joint vision since the talks between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in July in Riyadh.

Al-Falih said that the agenda included a review of the work of various subcommittees of the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030 body, which was set up in 2016 to create partnerships between the two nations.

At the end of the session, there was an agreement to set up several initiatives for mutual economic progress.
