Mohammed Al-Kurd is a Palestinian writer and poet known for his works that predominantly focus on the themes of dispossession in Jerusalem and colonization in Palestine.

Al-Kurd is most prominently recognized for his role as a co-founder of the #SaveSheikhJarrah movement, an advocacy campaign that emerged from the spotlight placed on the displacement challenges endured by the Palestinian community in Sheikh Jarrah, a neighborhood of East Jerusalem.

His commentary and writings have been featured in various global media outlets, and he has become a frequent commentator on major television networks. He also holds the position of civic media fellow at the Annenberg Innovation Lab at the University of Southern California.

Al-Kurd has received multiple awards and honors, including a truth in media award from the Arab American Civil Council in 2022, and this year the cultural freedom fellowship from the Lannan Foundation. In 2021, he was also named on Time magazine’s top-100 list of the most influential people in the world.

Some of his writings have faced criticism for being perceived as having antisemitic content.
