Saudi, Colombian foreign ministers discuss Gaza conflict during call

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has thanked his Colombian counterpart Alvaro Leyva Duran for his support of the UN resolution issued on Friday, aimed at an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of an urgent humanitarian truce.

The comments were made during a phone call the Kingdom’s foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The two discussed developments in Gaza and its surroundings, in light of the continuing military escalation and the danger it poses for civilians, the ministry said in a statement.
They also discussed the need for the international community to fulfil “its responsibility to stop all military actions and return to the path of just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian issue, in a way that achieves international peace and security,” the statetment added.
