RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has urged the international community to help end all military operations in Gaza, which would allow relief organizations to deliver much-needed aid to the besieged civilian population.

The call was made at a Cabinet meeting in Riyadh chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The Cabinet said in a statement that it was overseeing several diplomatic initiatives that would ensure a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian people.

The crown prince briefed the Cabinet on a phone call he received from US President Joe Biden during which he affirmed the Kingdom’s position on Gaza, the SPA reported.

Meanwhile, the ministers reviewed the talks that have resumed in Jeddah between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, facilitated by Saudi Arabia and the US, in cooperation with the African Union-aligned Intergovernmental Authority on Development.

The ministers expressed hope that this dialogue would ensure an agreement is signed to bring peace and security to Sudan.

On the 7th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative, the Cabinet noted that it had concluded successfully with investments of over $17 billion recorded.

With regard to Saudi Arabia seeking international cooperation in the transport sector, the Cabinet approved two memorandums for the Transport Ministry to action.

In other decisions, it was agreed to bolster investment ties with Mauritania; and an agreement was authorized to ensure cooperation with Qatar on mutual investments, nuclear safety, and avoidance of double taxation.

The Cabinet further approved a tripartite agreement with UNESCO and the Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education.

The ministers also approved an agreement between the Saudi Export Development Authority and China’s Ministry of Commerce. The Kingdom was the guest of honor at the China-Arab States Exhibition held earlier this year.

A bylaw affecting the Saudi Red Sea Authority was approved by the ministers at the Cabinet meeting.
