RIYADH: Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday visited the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition’s headquarters in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Sheikh Ahmad and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Saudi Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, IMCTC Secretary General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi and other member state representatives.
The minister was briefed on the coalition’s key operations, initiatives and mechanisms for coordinating the member states in eradicating terrorism. He also examined the IMCTC’s recent reports and monitoring of terrorist organizations around the world.
Sheikh Ahmad praised the IMCTC’s approach to countering terrorism, which is the result of a strong and unified stance among member states.
Al-Moghedi congratulated Sheikh Ahmad for his visit and emphasized the critical role Kuwait has played in combating extremism.
He also emphasized the Saudi leadership’s support for IMCTC and its initiatives.
