RIYADH: Construction on a hosipital, utilities and number of roads has been completed in the $500 billion city of NEOM, according to a new video released setting out the development’s progress.
The short film is the first such update since January, and shows that “construction is gaining pace exponentially” for residential developments.
More than 3,000 people from 90 countries are working on the giga-project, and over 60,000 construction workers are on-site.
The giga-project’s investment until January amounted to SR7.5 billion ($2 billion), and it plans to open the first advanced terminal in 2025.
Owned and supported by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund, the giga-project reported that it has “raised $6.1 billion in financing to build the world’s largest hydrogen plant to produce green ammonia at scale in 2026” through NEOM Green Hydrogen Co.
This video is part of an ongoing series illustrating key milestones and advancements in NEOM’s development journey.
