RIYADH: Saudi aid agency KSrelief has delivered 20 fully equipped ambulances to the Turkish Ministry of Health, to complement its efforts to support health services in the parts southern Turkiye hit by devastating earthquakes in February.
The ambulances were handed over on Wednesday in the presence of the Saudi ambassador to Turkiye, Fahd Al-Nasr, and the Turkish deputy minister of health, Suayip Birinci, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
Birinci thanked King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi government, for the aid and humanitarian assistance the Kingdom has provided to the victims of the earthquakes, which he said had helped to alleviate their suffering.
A magnitude 7.8 earthquake and aftershocks struck parts of southern and central Turkiye and northern and western Syria on Feb. 6, killing more than 50,000 people, with 45,968 confirmed deaths in the former and 7,259 in the latter.
