LONDON: Iranian authorities have suspended the Entekhab news outlet after its criticism of Tehran’s foreign policy.
The Press Supervisory Board of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced the decision to revoke the operating license of the Tehran-based, state-run news website, citing violations of press laws.
The exact reasons for the suspension have not been disclosed. However, the government-affiliated Tasnim news agency reported that authorities had found that Entekhab had been acting “beyond legal boundaries, contrary to national interests, and against the fundamental policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in foreign policy.”
Entekhab’s suspension follows its publication of a video report critical of the government’s foreign policy, which was described as a “failure.”
