RIYADH: Border Guards in Saudi Arabia’s southern Jazan Region foiled an attempt to smuggle 48 kg of the narcotic qat, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Authorities said all necessary legal procedures have been taken and the confiscated drugs have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.

In Madinah, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) arrested two residents of Pakistani nationality for selling the methamphetamine substance known as shabu.

The suspects were referred to the competent authority.
