RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef concluded an official visit to Turkiye to strengthen collaboration in industry and mining, expand export opportunities between the two nations, and attract high-quality foreign investments across various targeted sectors, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

During his visit, Al-Khorayef held meetings with Turkish officials, including Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Trade Omer Bolat, and President of the Turkish Defense Industries Union Haluk Gorgun.

The discussions centered on reinforcing industrial collaboration, expanding non-oil exports, and elevating economic partnerships between the two nations.

The visit included participation in roundtable events organized by the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board in Istanbul and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in the capital, Ankara.

Al-Khorayef also visited various Turkish companies and factories, engaging with their officials and gaining insights into cutting-edge automation and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.

The field visits paved the way for discussions on bolstering cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, with a strong emphasis on knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources aimed at strengthening collaboration in the mining sector.

Another MoU was signed between the National Industrial Development Center and a Turkish company, focusing on industry, technology, and innovation cooperation.

A third MoU was signed between the Saudi Industrial Center and the Turkish company RoboTurkiye in Istanbul, aimed at fostering cooperation in artificial intelligence.

Al-Khorayef’s visit also included a meeting with a delegation of Saudi students studying in Turkiye.
