RIYADH: About 300 productive Saudi families and craftsmen, 25 nongovernmental organizations, and five government agencies displayed their products at an exhibition that began on Tuesday and runs for five days.
The Sanaati 2023 exhibition was inaugurated by Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, who praised the Saudi leadership for supporting creative people in the country.
He said: “Our leadership exerts all efforts to empower productive families by providing such opportunities to participate in the exhibition.”
The event aims to help families and creators of handicrafts to market their products, introduce them to the public, and encourage people to establish their own projects.
The governor toured the pavilions and listened to the views of Badr bin Suleiman Al-Ruzaiza, the head of the Asharqia Chamber, who spoke about the exhibition and its objectives of consolidating employment among families.
Prince Saud expressed his admiration for the products on display.
Al-Ruzaiza said that the exhibition was an expression of the objective of the chamber in supporting Vision 2030 to diversify the country’s economic base.
He said: “The exhibition seeks to qualify participants and contribute to transforming them into value-added entities, in addition to developing their potential and honing their skills to have a sustainable source of income.”
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in the Eastern Province; the Eastern Province Council for Social Responsibility; the Social Development Bank; the Heritage Commission; and the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts in Dammam are all taking part in the exhibition.
