‘Disney on Ice’ to receive visitors from Aug. 24

RIYADH: “Disney on Ice Presents 100 Years of Wonder” is returning to Riyadh on Aug. 24 and will be held in the Boulevard Riyadh City area as part of the Riyadh Calendar events.

Boulevard Riyadh City is the largest entertainment center in the capital, featuring everything from luxury shops to an array of local and international dining options.

The show, which will run until Sept. 20, features stunning performances on an ice-skating rink that will bring Disney stories to life.

Beloved characters from Disney’s “Moana,” “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Tangled,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Cinderella,” and “Sleeping Beauty” will make appearances in the show.

Stories from seven Disney princesses will also be explored, in addition to Disney’s “Frozen” and Disney/Pixar’s “Coco.”

Earlier this year, the General Entertainment Authority reported that about 15 million visitors from around the world have now attended Riyadh Calendar events, captivated by the wide variety of international and local entertainment on offer, GEA Chairman Turki Al-Sheikh said.

The Riyadh Calendar boasts a vast collection of festivals, exhibitions and activities that give visitors the chance to enjoy the cultures and customs of many different nations.

The events have also attracted foreign investment, which has enhanced the entertainment sector in the Kingdom, and provided a significant economic boost to local communities by creating jobs.
