NEW YORK: Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Abdulaziz Al-Wasil recently met Dr. Mohammed Yahya Al-Sayel, president of the Kingdom’s General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information in New York.
Al-Sayel, who is also the chairman of the Arab Committee of UN Experts for Geospatial Information Management, was accompanied by the representative of the private sector on the board of directors of GASGI.
Their meeting was held on the sidelines of the Kingdom’s delegation’s participation in the 13th session of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management.
Separately, Al-Sayel also met with the chief of the Geospatial Information Section at the UN’s Office of Information and Technology, Kyoung-Soo Eom. The two men discussed cooperation between GASGI and the Geospatial Information Section, which draws and provides maps for the UN. They agreed to exchange information and identify areas that can enhance the Geospatial Information Section’s support for GASGI.
