DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida oversaw the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements aimed at bolstering the historic ties between their two countries
The signings took place in Abu Dhabi during the prime minister’s official visit to the UAE, Emirates News Agency reported on Monday.
The agreements built on the UAE-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership announced last year, and were signed by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Japan’s Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki.
The MoUs cover agriculture and fisheries, tourism, education, peaceful space activities, and energy security.
Furthermore, the two parties also signed a joint declaration of intent related to the establishment of an energy security and industry accelerator as well as a joint statement on climate action.
