RIYADH: Saudi authorities have arrested several people across the country for drug-related offenses in recent days.
On Monday, a security regiment on patrol in the Al-Dayer governorate of Jazan foiled an attempt to smuggle 602 kg of the narcotic qat into the Kingdom.
In another attempt, two Yemeni nationals were also arrested in Al-Dayer for smuggling qat.
In Riyadh, patrol authorities caught two citizens attempting to sell amphetamine and hashish.
Preliminary legal procedures have been completed and all seized narcotics handed over to the authorities. All those arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
