RIYADH: Bahrain’s aviation industry is set to receive a further boost as the island nation prepares to host the 11th edition of its international airshow next year.

To be held on Nov. 13-15, 2024, the Bahrain International Airshow will contribute to the country’s overall development strategy in the sector, with the world’s leading aerospace experts coming together to discuss the industry’s evolving needs, according to a press release.

The organizers of the event hope that it will further strengthen the country’s aviation sector and attract key players to explore opportunities, foster innovation, and drive growth.

The 2022 edition of the airshow saw participation from over 186 companies from more than 30 countries.

The country has continued to develop its aviation sector, and earlier this year the Royal Bahrain Air Force expanded its aircraft fleet with the delivery of the first F-16 Block 70 fighter jet from Lockheed Martin.

Additionally, the RBAF added three Bell 505 helicopters from Bell Textron, enhancing its existing fleet of Bell 212 and AH-1 attack helicopters.

These developments underscore Bahrain’s commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities, fostering innovation, and embracing advanced technologies, the release added.
