RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has stepped up aid projects in Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan and Yemen.

In Somalia, the center recently distributed 520 food baskets in the Togdheer region, from which 3,110 individuals affected by drought benefited.

The aid is part of the efforts made by Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of people in the East African country.

In Sudan, KSrelief distributed 350 food baskets to 2,100 people in need, in Port Sudan.

It is part of the project implemented by the Kingdom to help people achieve food security and alleviate the suffering of those in need.

KSrelief also distributed 1,500 food baskets to the victims of the flood in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

Almost 9,000 people benefited from this aid, which is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support the Afghan people.

In Yemen, 16 relief trucks crossed Al-Wadiah border crossing, carrying relief aid weighing more than 160 tons. The aid, which includes medical items, tents and shelter bags, headed to the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib, Taiz, Hajjah and Saada.

KSrelief has implemented 2,402 projects worth more than $6.2 billion in 92 countries. The initiatives were carried out in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners since the inception of the center in May 2015.

According to a recent KSrelief report, countries and territories that benefited most from the center’s projects were Yemen ($4.2 billion), Syria ($372 million), Palestine ($370 million), and Somalia ($256 million).
