DUBAI: UAE president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received a phone call from Syria’s President Bashar Al-Assad UAE state news agency WAM reported on Monday.
During the call – which happened on Sunday evening - the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them further.
Assad thanked the UAE president for the UAE’s role in strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation between Arab nations, which he said benefitted those countries and their people.
The Arab League on Sunday re-admitted Syria’s regime, ending a more than decade-long suspension and securing Assad’s return to the Arab fold after years of isolation.
