- Saudi health ministry said that 5,194 COVID-19 cases are still active
RIYADH: Saudi authorities reported 355 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. As a result, the total number of cases in the Kingdom over the course of the pandemic grew to 834,422.
Of the new infections, 144 were recorded in Riyadh, 41 in Jeddah, 13 in Taif, 12 in Dammam and 10 in Tabuk. Several other cities recorded fewer than 10 new cases each.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that the Kingdom’s death toll from COVID-19 reached 9,631.
It said that 162 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom over the course of the pandemic to 819,597.
The ministry said that 5,194 COVID-19 cases are still active, adding that 8,340 PCR tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to more than 45.3 million.
The ministry said of the current cases, 71 patients were in critical condition.
More than 69.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the Kingdom’s immunization campaign began, with more than 25.4 million people fully vaccinated.
