ISLAMABAD: Pakistani gamer Arslan Siddique, “aka Arslan Ash,” won the global Tekken 7 competition on Sunday at the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) Japan 2023, bagging the prize at the largest game fighting competition in the world.

With his latest victory, Siddique has three EVO titles under his belt. In February 2019, he won the Tekken 7 competition held in Japan and later during the same year, won the Tekken 7 EVO in Las Vegas to become the first unified EVO champion.

On Sunday, Siddique beat South Korea’s MEO-IL in the final, using Zafrina as his fighter of choice while MEO-IL played with GEESE.

While Siddique and MEO-IL finished in the top two slots, South Korea’s Rangchu bagged the third place. All three were later awarded cash and additional prizes by Tekken series game director and chief producer Katsuhiro Harada.

In February, another Pakistani gamer, Atif Butt, won the “King of the Iron Fist” award after winning the Tekken World Tour 2022 videogame tournament in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Interestingly, Butt was also a member of the team founded by Siddique.
