RIYADH, 16 December 2002 — Saleh Al-Azzaz, a well-known Saudi photographer and journalist, died here of cancer yesterday morning.
Al-Azzaz, 43, died at King Faisal Special Hospital following a prolonged illness. He had returned to the Kingdom after a year-long medical trip to the United States
Al-Azzaz, who was born in Al-Khabra in Qassim, is survived by his wife and three daughters.
He worked as a journalist on a number of Saudi newspapers. He is well-known for his photographic skills with a number of books to his credit.
His latest book, Impossibly Blue, includes the best pictures he has taken of the Kingdom accompanied by poetry written by the Bahraini poet Qasem Haddad.
He is also the author of Back to Earth, a book in English and Arabic that has beautiful shots of the mud houses in Saudi Arabia.
