Lulu Group has further expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia by opening a new hypermarket in the Eastern Province.

The 30th hypermarket in the Kingdom was inaugurated by Hamad bin Mohammed AlbuAli, vice president of the chamber of commerce, EP, in the presence of Yusuff Ali MA, chairman of Lulu Group International, and other dignitaries.

The 100,000 sq. feet single-level market is located in Al-Rakkah district and offers an abundant range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood from around the world.

It features an in-house bakery to serve up fresh bread and cakes, as well as shopping options that tap into new award-winning trends. These include a wide selection of plant-based meat substitutes and foods, special organic and superfood selections, and an extensive ‘free-from’ range varieties.

An emphasis is on food products grown and produced in the Kingdom — farm fish, locally slaughtered lamb and beef in the meat section, coffee, fruit and vegetables.

On the occasion, Yusuffali MA, said: “We are proud to see yet another great retail addition to our growing circle of iconic stores which is a testimony to the fact that the LuLu Group has continued to expand and invest in the Kingdom even through the challenging pandemic months.

“We are proud to be a part of Saudi Arabi’s overall development and will continue to support sustainable development strategies. Thanks to the wise leadership.”

The hypermarket will also provide the service of an e-receipt for every purchase which will go as an SMS message to the shopper’s phone upon payment at the checkout counter.

The store will highlight sustainability with a special refills section for the first time in the Kingdom where customers can refill their packs with coffee, millet, spices, and pulses while they shop and be environmentally friendly with savings on the packaging.

Present on the occasion were Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu Group; Shehim Mohammed, director LuLu Hypermarket Saudi Arabia; Moiz Nuruddin, regional director, LuLu Eastern Province; Eng. Muhammad Ahmad Bubushait, executive manager, LuLu Eastern Province, among other officials.
