- Donation will help sponsor a year of rehabilitation, education and family support services for up to 20 children facing autism spectrum disorder in Saudi Arabia
Shein, a global online retailer of fashion, beauty and lifestyle products, donated SR.400,000 to the Charitable Society of Autism Families to provide rehabilitation, education and family support programs for 20 children facing autism spectrum disorder in Saudi Arabia.
The donation was received by Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al-Saud, chairman of the board at Charitable Society of Autism Families, during a special signing ceremony in Riyadh. Prince Saud expressed his gratitude for this agreement resulting from the high level of awareness and social responsibility toward people with autism spectrum disorders. He added that the rehabilitation and education program that 20 autistic children will undergo will have a positive impact on improving their lives.
Shein’s funds will be allocated toward extensive support programs that are specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of children with autism, with an aim to foster greater inclusivity for them and their families and empower them with opportunities for growth and development. The programs will include support across speech and communication, behavior modification, and one-on-one discussions, with the duration ranging between 30 to 50 sessions for each beneficiary during a one-year period.
The donation is part of Shein’s ongoing CSR programs under the umbrella of “Powered by Love,” enabling children with autism across Saudi Arabia and the UAE to better integrate within the community and achieve their full potential. In line with this commitment, Shein has donated $40,000 to the Maharat Learning Center, conducted specialized training sessions for parents and caregivers, hosted its first-ever fashion show for kids, and organized a community fair. Shein’s CSR program will continue in 2023, with full details to be announced in the coming months.
