RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry expressed sorrow and regret after 40 people were killed in a bus accident in Kaffrine, central Senegal on Sunday.

Forty people were killed and 85 were injured when two buses crashed in a head-on collision overnight on a road in Kaffrine region, Senegal’s government said on Sunday.
Images of the incident showed the completely mangled front end of a white bus, with personal items strewn around the tree-lined crash site.

The ministry offered its condolences to the families of victims and the Senegalese government and people.

It also wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
