Saudi Shoura Council speaker meets Turkiye’s Grand National Assembly chief

Saudi Shoura Council Speaker Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh held a bilateral meeting with the speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, Mustafa Sentop, in Ankara on Tuesday.

During the meeting, several issues of common interest between the two countries were discussed, with the aim of promoting common ambitions, namely in terms of parliamentary cooperation between the council and assembly.

After the meeting, the Saudi speaker held official talks with the Turkish speaker in the presence of members from the council and assembly.

Sentop referred to strong historical and cultural relations between Turkiye and the Kingdom. He also stressed the importance of the Saudi speaker’s visit, saying that it contributes to the advancement of bilateral relations.

“The relations between the Kingdom and Turkiye, as well as their mutual coordination, is of benefit for the world in general and the region in particular,” he added.

“Our country supports Riyadh’s hosting of World Expo 2030, as we are aware of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom to save the environment. We are also aware of the giant projects listed under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, as well as the qualitative leap taken by its leaders.

“We wish the Kingdom permanent success in terms of managing the Two Holy Mosques affairs, and we congratulate it for the success in serving pilgrims coming from all around the world.”

During the session, Al-Asheikh praised the great support provided by leaders of both countries, pointing to the importance of joint bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom and Turkiye that enhances ties, achieves common interests and fulfills the aspirations of people in both countries.

“Maintaining continuous communication and holding parliamentary meetings regularly between the council and the assembly is of great importance. We also need to enhance the mutual coordination between both entities in various international and regional forums, as such coordination significantly supports the relations between both countries to reach higher levels of communications,” he said.
