At a press conference held later, Dr. Moopen, who is also the chairman of the Dubai-based Dr. Moopen’s Group and Calicut-based Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd., said one of the features of Al-Wurood school was to identify children’s strengths and weaknesses and work toward instilling in them leadership qualities and building their all-round personality.

The school, with a teacher-student ratio of 1:15, has 600 multinational students on its rolls from Grade 1 to 9 — 350 of them boys.

“Children interacting in a multinational environment have an advantage of understanding the cultural traditions of different nationalities,” said Sebastian.
