Saudi aid agency helps thousands at medical facility in Yemen

SOCOTRA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has opened a temporary medical camp on the island of in Socotra in Yemen that is providing treatment and surgeries for thousands of patients.

Its work will continue until Dec. 18 and in addition to performing about 300 cataract surgeries and lens implants, and 100 other operations for eye problems, medics at the camp aim to assess the cases of more than 4,000 male and female patients.

Elsewhere, the center recently distributed 500 baskets of food in Al-Malha area in Sudan’s North Darfur state, benefiting 4,052 people.

Officials said the assistance comes within a wider framework of humanitarian and relief aid provided by the Kingdom through the center to countries and peoples in need around the world.
