Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s fans participated in celebrations by waving flags and chanting songs of support for the Saudi national team in Souq Waqif in the Qatari capital, Doha. The squad will participate for the sixth time in the World Cup and will play its first match against Argentina on Tuesday.
Doha witnessed a massive influx of Saudi fans to Souq Waqif to interact and support the national team in the World Cup, hosted by Qatar from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18.
This comes after the Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced the participation of 5,000 fans, divided equally among all the Kingdom’s 172 clubs, who will form the fans’ association during the World Cup. The federation aims to support the national team, positively reflect on the Kingdom, and build a cultural bridge with fans of competing teams.
