RIYADH: The Saudi national team met with World Cup officials on Thursday, who briefed them on the rules and arrangements of the global contest.

The meeting with the event’s organizing committee was held at the team’s base in Qatar and was attended by playing and admin staff.

During the meeting captain Salman Al-Faraj was given a shield for Saudi Arabia’s participation in the competition.

They will be competing against Argentina, Mexico and Poland to progress out of Group C. The Green Falcon’s first match is on Tuesday against Argentina.

The team lost 1-0 to 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia in a spirited contest in the Saudi capital on Wednesday.
