Iran ‘meddling’ focus at Arab ministerial meeting

CAIRO: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Quartet Committee that focused on several key regional issues including a discussion on Iran’s interference in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 158th regular session of the Council of the Arab League in Cairo.

The committee members accused Iran of meddling in the region, and discussed several reports submitted by the region’s countries, including an update from the Arab League’s secretariat on the matter, SPA reported.

Prince Faisal also participated in a meeting of the Committee on Action to End Israeli Measures in the Occupied City of Jerusalem, which was led by Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.

The meeting dealt with the illegal Israeli measures aimed at changing the Arab, Islamic and Christian identity of Jerusalem. It also reviewed the latest developments taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Prince Faisal also took part in discussions on Turkey’s intrusions in the affairs of Arab countries at a meeting chaired by Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
