RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh received the Bahraini Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Maawda, in Riyadh on Sunday.
The meeting discussed the activation of a memorandum of understanding between the two ministries on Islamic affairs, training, and qualifying imams and preachers, as well as implementing programs to encourage moderation and counter hate speech, extremism and terrorism.
In a press conference after the meeting, Al-Asheikh said that the Kingdom, under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is working to spread the values of Islam according to the Holy Qur’an and the noble Sunnah.
He praised the agreement between the two ministries to further cooperation and achieve the objectives of leaderships of both countries.
Al-Maawda said that Bahrain is keen to strengthen cooperation in fields that serve Islamic work, and hopes to benefit from the Kingdom’s experience in this regard.
