DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan arrived in Athens for a visit to Greece on Thursday, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
He was met by his Greek counterpart Katerina Sakellaropoulou at the Presidential Palace where an official reception ceremony was held, and the anthems of both countries were played.
During his visit, Mohammed bin Zayed will discuss areas of cooperation with the Greek President, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and other senior officials, WAM earlier reported.
The leaders will also discuss bilateral ties and ways to boost strategic partnerships between both countries to serve common interests.

Sheikh Mohammed also met Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his trip, during which he discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them with the Greek premier.
The Emirati president's visit came as UAE and Greece agreed to create a €4 billion ($4.22 billion) initiative to invest in the Greek economy in sectors including infrastructure, renewable and new forms of energy, healthcare, food and agriculture, as well as logistics.
