RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 1,277 food packages and 6,000 cartons of dates to families in need in Pakistan and Yemen on Saturday.
As part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian aid projects in Pakistan, volunteers distributed food packages to those in need — including widows, orphans and individuals with special needs — in Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Deer Al-Olya in the Khayber Pakhtunkhwa province, helping 8,939 individuals.
In the Al-Wadi Directorate of Yemen’s Maarib Governorate, 36,000 individuals in need benefited from the distribution of 6,000 cartons of dates.
KSrelief has so far initiated 128 projects to improve food security in Yemen at a cost of $1.4 billion.
Since KSrelief was founded in May 2015, it has launched 2,069 projects across 86 countries, spending more than $5.8 billion in the process.
KS relief has 718 projects focused solely to food security, aiding 68 countries, including Yemen Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, India and Turkmenistan.
This year alone, KSrelief has added 66 new food-security projects at a total cost of over $53 million.
