Egyptian FM, US special envoy discuss coordination on climate change

CAIRO: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and John Kerry, US special presidential envoy for climate, discussed cooperation between their countries in the field of climate change.

During the phone call, they also followed up on the results of their meeting in Berlin last month on the sidelines of the Petersberg Climate Dialogue.

Kerry praised ongoing cooperation between Egypt and the US, and expressed Washington’s keenness to partake effectively in the UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.

Shoukry praised bilateral cooperation in the field of climate change, and expressed his hope for high-level American participation at the conference.
